About Me
Hi, I’m Jal — a research scientist and engineer passionate about building health technologies that connect physiology, data, and real-world impact.
I work at the intersection of sensing hardware, signal processing, and data science. I develop algorithms that turn noisy biosignals into insights — from heart rate and blood pressure estimation to motion artifact removal and biofeedback. My work spans machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling, and I’ve led cross-functional teams from concept to prototype and clinical validation.
What drives me is the potential of technology to improve lives — creating solutions that are effective, trustworthy, and human-centered.
I’m curious about how complex systems work, whether it’s the human body or an embedded device. I thrive in collaborative environments where we ask bold questions and build with care.
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, swimming, and pickleball — anything active and mentally engaging. I’m also fascinated by the connection between the heart and brain, and love deep conversations about science and philosophy.
